Stocking Stuffers Under $20

This Christmas, Felix and I are exchanging gifts every day – kind of like the advent calendar. His Mom bought us this adorable advent bag thingy and on odd days he gets a gift and on even days, I get a gift. So far he has gotten socks and chocolate but as the days get closer to Christmas I’m planning on more exciting things.

But presents can get expensive so here are a few stocking stuffers for that female you love so much in your life – your mom, your wife, your sister, your girlfriend, your bestie, your niece, your grandma …. I think you get my point. And us females love all things that pamper us and smell good. You can’t go wrong with these. And all under $20.

Bee & Flower Rose Soap Bars

soapThis sweet smelling soap is hand-milled in Shanghai to last longer and preserve moisture — plus, the long-lasting rose scent is created without any additives. Plus the package is so pretty no need to wrap it! 12 bars for $15, now that’s a steal.

Also, sustainably harvested off the coast of Maine. I like that. Seaweed Bath $8.50

Müller …. Müller … Müller

Blogging while procrastinating packing for my trip to the states tomorrow. I am The World’s Best Procrastinator. It’s true.

Do you know the store Müller? They’re in Germany, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Croatia and Slovenia. Kind of a strange assortment of countries but anyways, I am so happy Müller is in Spain. It is my home away from home CVS drug store. With a plethora of perfumes, cologne, beauty products, pet food, food items, tea galore, art supplies and a whole bunch of other stuff.

Check out my purchases from today – spinners for my nephews, my favorite hibiscus tea, coffee beans, lash boost, last strengthener, Clinique mascara and lipstick (LOVE CLINIQUE), John Frieda sheer blonde shampoo (just got my hairs did) and some milk. And I will let y’all know how the lash boost works. I know you ladies want to know.

Now you know about Müller. If you haven’t yet and you live where there is one, go check it out.

And because I just really had to – Müller can also be spelled Mueller for people who don’t have the umlaut ü – learn something new every day, huh. And it always reminds me of one of my favorite childhood movies Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

Bueller? Bueller? Bueller? Anyone?

Free Airport Wi-Fi

If you’re like me, which would be someone who is a bit thrifty and doesn’t like to pay for wi-fi (especially at the airport where you have a little down time to browse the internet), I have a good thing for you. A travel blogger, Anil Polat, has created an always up-to-date list of airport wireless connections with passwords. He updates it regularly with help from fellow travelers like you and me.

Thank you Mr. Polat! I hate it when I can’t get free wi-fi. And now, at most airports, I can – for FREE! One of my favorite words.

You can bookmark the map, which is HERE on google. Or he has created an app called WiFox that you can purchase for $1.99. Don’t forget to let Anil Polat know of passwords at airports where you are by commenting on the link. Enjoy your free airport wireless and happy travels!

Cool Christmas Gifts For KIDS

xmas-gifts

Here are tried and true gifts for kids. I have three nephews, so I am a bit more boy focused in my selections but I think all are perfect for girls too. Girls want to be a Jedi too!

The clock is ticking for Christmas, even those these are great for anytime of the year.

  1. My oldest nephew LOVED this book. He devoured and giggled through it within a day. Star Wars So You Want To Be A Jedi by Adam Gidwitz
  2. Lincoln Logs are always a classic. My nephews played with MY old set so much that had so many missing pieces I had to buy them a new one.
  3. My nephews look forward to their monthly subscription of National Geographic Kids. It is truly a fun and informative magazine for young and learning minds.
  4. Diary of a Wimpy Pikachu by Red Smith. I recently bought this for my middle nephew’s birthday. He is six and a good reader. They are a series of nine books. He loved the first one and is now requesting Diary of a Farting Pikachu. Hahahaha!!
  5. Again, Pokemon. Seriously, they can’t get enough. One more for the Pokemon kiddos – Throw ‘N’ Pop Pikachu and Poké Ball
  6. Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 camera. I haven’t bought this yet but I will soon. Maybe for me! Who didn’t love the Polaroid cameras of our youth? (Showing my age here) This one is cuter and better, it automatically determines the best brightness for taking a picture, and informs you of the suitable setting by lighting the corresponding lamp.

And that’s my gift list! Click on the links to buy. It’s almost Christmas! WOW.

Let’s Reminisce

Let’s reminisce. Shall we? Well, today is my birthday. And here I am writing a post. 🙂 See my dedication?! Yesterday I was a bit down. Do you ever get the birthday blues? Thinking about where you are in life and nothing being like you thought it would be. Something like that. But then I remember that I have a wonderful life and nothing is perfect – even though some people sure make it seem like it is on their FBook and Instagram posts.

So, here I am on the big day. A happy girl, with a fantastic man in my life who loves me unconditionally, living on a gorgeous island. AND a new iPhone 6S in her hand. Whoo Hoooo!! I can finally download music.ly and possibly Pokemon Go (or is that already not cool?). My iPhone4 was so old it wouldn’t let me download any new apps that need iOs 8.

Anyways, my birthday also makes me reminisce about the younger times when things were easy and carefree. Who remembers these:

Awwww, an old library card.

Ribbon Barrettes. Jeannie and I tried to make these again – not as easy as it seems!

And Lloyd Dobler. Never forget the Lloyd.
