Fa La La La Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Here I am again! Posting every day for Christmas.  I even put up Christmas lights outside! Maybe that will be my post for tomorrow because it’s already 10 pm and I am too lazy to go and take a picture.

Do you know I have five cats? Well, at the moment it is five. We were up to seven earlier this year but RIP Fatty and Crazy Cat. And then you just never knew when some sweet kitten shows up at my door. I saw the CUTEST fluffy grey one in the backyard just the other day. Made me want to run and grab him and make him mine. NO. STOP. I cannot have another cat. No, really, I love them and they are so cute but seriously five is plenty. Ahhh, but you just never know do ya?

I love this guy. I need to make a santa hat for my cats, that will be awesome! Working on that next…..

Gangnam Style Christmas!

This is MUCH more exciting than my post from yesterday. Trust me. Take the hottest tune in the past few months, add some Christmas lights to the beat and viola! Instant magic.

If I had the time or patience to do this to my house in Mallorca I would – AND it would be the hit of the entire island!! Not too many people get that crazy with light and decorations here. But I am going to put up a few tomorrow to get in the spirit. Granted and sadly, it won’t be Gangnam Style but it will be festive!

And now, your Christmas Light Show – Gangnam Style.

I think you might like it …. or not.

OK, I love Grease. I love Xanadu. I  love Pulp Fiction. I love Vinnie Barbarino, Saturday Night Fever, Hairspray and definitely Urban Cowboy! But this new Christmas song, “I think you might like it” from Olivia Newton-John and Johnny just makes me say WHAT THE…. ?

Granted all proceeds go to charity. ONJs to Breast Cancer and Johns to the The Jett Travolta Foundation and the Special Olympics. So watch and buy, I guess!

This is just the beginning of my Christmas blog … stay tuned for better things than this video! (Which won’t be too difficult)

19 days til Christmas!

Love me some Fryes

Did you think I was talking about fries? Like french fries, pommes frites, patatas fritas? Nope. Sorry, but I do love them as well.

I am talking about FRYES! Frye boots. Please tell me you  know about this brand. They have like the best boots. Ever. And if anything happens to them within the first two years you own them they will fix them. For FREE y’all!

These babies weren’t cheap so thank goodness I have my mama to pay for them. An early Christmas present to me since I wouldn’t be there this year. Thanks Mom! (And Dad). Here are my new boots, Frye Melissa Button Vintage boots in chocolate. I’m in love!

Happy Day Chuck!

Thanksgiving has passed and thankfully this year I was able to enjoy it with my family in the USA. I am here for my dad’s 70th birthday which sometimes falls on Turkey Day, but not this year. We enjoyed the norm – turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberrries, green bean casserole and several pies to choose from, pumpkin being my favorite.

The day has gone and today we get to enjoy the leftovers. Turkey and cranberry sandwich anyone? And tomorrow is dad’s birthday. I think his greatest present will be if Oklahoma State wins against OU in the Bedlam game tomorrow so let’s keep all things crossed for that. My dad’s name is Charles but usually goes by Chuck. In the spirit of still lingering with Thanksgiving and the birthday I am ending with one of my favorite childhood memories – Charlie Brown. Nothing is better than enjoying life with good friends and family. Hope all of you enjoyed the day like that as well.

TT ~ PONTOON

What you have all been waiting for! A new Track Tuesday, it has been awhile.

Y’all, I truly love this song! Winners of this year’s CMA award for best vocal group and best single of the year goes to Little Big Town’s song “Pontoon”. Who knows how much I would have liked country music if I had not moved to Oklahoma when I was ten years old from Madison, WI but I sure do love it.

The video is fun and someone please tell me the exact definition of “motorboatin”. 😉 Watching it makes me want to call up a group of friends, rent a pontoon and hang out on it for the summer on Lake Keystone. Maybe Lake Powell in UT, that is one gorgeous place right there. Let’s go! Who’s with me?

Help Frankenstorm victims

New York has a special place in my heart. Yes it is the city that never sleeps, there are a bazillion things to do there at any time of the day or night and it has the most excellent pizza. I lived there for a year in my studio apartment the size of a toothpick. It was a time I will never forget. I had always wanted to live there and I finally made it happen. I loved every single crazy minute of it.

Unless you are living under a rock, I’m sure you know Hurricane Sandy hit the area hard last week. New York, New Jersey were hit the hardest – Homes are gone, some people are still without heat and electricity, their lives forever changed. I felt at a loss when my friends were on DAY SIX! of no power, gas a scarce commodity. I couldn’t do much from here except keeping them in my thoughts and prayers. But there are things we can do.

1. Text REDCROSS to 90999 to give a $10 donation. It is that simple! Red Cross has been on the front lines offering aid.

2. If you are a business owner you can start a disaster relief program by telling your customers you will donate a dollar, fifty cents, twenty-five cents (Anything!) every time they buy a product of yours. Or you can have your employees contribute to the program and you match their contribution.

3. Volunteer your help by joining Samaritan’s Purse. They are asking for volunteers of all skill levels to help with debris clean up and mud outs. You have to be at least 14 years old to volunteer. Visit their website to join a team.

4.  Give blood. Almost 100 blood drives were canceled due to Sandy, and the result is low blood supplies. Call the Red Cross and make an appointment to give blood.

5. Look towards your community, find an organization that is collecting supplies to send to the victims – Blankets, canned foods, clothing, etc. If there isn’t one set up for this in your community then set one up yourself!

I will be visiting the states in a few weeks and I plan on helping in every way possible. Much love to those affected by Hurricane Sandy.
