Have You Seen Frenchie?

Hello! Hola! Hallo! 😁

I’m thrilled to share that my children’s book, Have You Seen Frenchie?, is officially self-published and out in the world! 📚✨ This project has been a true labor of love, filled with fun adventures, lovable characters, and meaningful lessons for young readers.

What happens when a family of potatoes embarks on a daring adventure to find their missing relative? In “HAVE YOU SEEN FRENCHIE?,” Mama Potato, Papa Potato, and their youngest son Tater set off on a road trip to search for Frenchie. Along the way, they encounter quirky potato relatives like Cousin Chip and Uncle Mash with the stash. This vibrant story is filled with unforgettable characters and vivid settings, complemented by captivating illustrations, conveying valuable themes of family and perseverance.

I hope this story sparks imagination, joy, and a little wonder in the hearts of kids (and grown-ups too)!

I couldn’t have done this without the amazing support of friends and family—thank you all! 💛 If you know any young readers (or young at heart!), I’d be so grateful if you’d spread the word. The book is available on Amazon in most countries. Here is the USA link if you click HERE FOR – HAVE YOU SEEN FRENCHIE?

Thank you for joining me on this journey! 📖❤️

Christmas Butterplätzchen

img_0499

Time to make Mama N’s famous Weihnachten cookies again! These melt in your mouth cookies are so easy and everyone will love them. Make them for a party, for your family, for friends or just for yourself! Because you know what, you are worth it!

Here is the recipe in German but if you no entiendo Deutsch 🙂 then here’s the recipe in English.

Ingredients:

150 grams Flour                         75 grams sugar

1 Tablespoon Vanilla Sugar      1 egg yolk

100 grams butter (it says or margarine but REALLY?! do the butter already)

Clean off a countertop and starting at the top of the list make a pile of the ingredients. Then, when you add the butter grab a large knife and cut up all the ingredients together in a pile. Next, with clean hands (!) knead/mix the ingredients. Wrap the cookie dough in plastic wrap and set it in the fridge for one hour. Hour is up, roll the dough until it is 3 or 4 millimeters thick. Grab your cookie cutters and place the dough on a floured cookie sheet. Stick it into an oven at 180° C (350°F) for 8 – 10 minutes. Then take out to cool. Violá!

ps – I love the adorable side notes from Mama N in German. Warms my heart!

Siphon Coffee Addict

siphon Siphoned coffee, y’all. Have you had it? I think I am spoiled for the rest of my life with drinking coffee. When we were in Germany for Thanksgiving, Felix’s brother talked about this coffee maker from Japan and how not only did it make delicious coffee, but it was an entertaining science-y experiment. The next morning he made us coffee from his Hario Siphon Coffee Maker. AH-Mazing.

Well, it was so good that as soon as we were back in Mallorca, Felix had to buy one of his own. And now, we too are siphon coffee maker owners. YAY! It really is quite fun to do and watch. And if you are still searching for a cool and interesting Christmas present this would be a good one for your coffee lovers out there. You can buy the Hario 5-cup Siphon Coffee Maker here on Amazon. And because I just became an affliate, I make a few coins (seriously, only coins) if you order from this link. And in advance, thank you for supporting me!

A few things to tell you about the maker. First, it says 5 cups but those are more espresso sized cups. It makes about 3 American coffee mugs. Secondly, you will need to buy alcohol fuel for it, not butane. And three, use hot water to start off with, this will save you time and money on the fuel – doesn’t change the taste of the coffee at all.

I made a time-lapse video to show you how to use it/make the coffee. It really is quite easy and SOOOOO freaking smooth and delicious.
