The Shining. Halloween. Poltergeist. Seen ’em. Was kinda scared.
Scary movies are so fun. But I won’t lie, some have freaked me out quite decently. The last one was Paranormal Activity. Seriously, did you see it? My boyfriend would come into the bedroom at night after I had turned off the lights and just sway. Sooooo not funny. Plus it is still a bit difficult for me to put my feet out from the covers in fear of a demon grabbing them and dragging me away.
I googled top scary movies of the 90s and the number one was “Audition”. I’ve never heard of it. Have you? Might have to check that one out. The others were – The Ring, Seven, The Blair Witch Project (one of my favorites at that time), Scream, Silence of the Lambs. All really good movies but I feel that the 80s had more of a horror factor with The Shining, Poltergeist, Cujo, Pet Cemetery. The latter which started me on Stephen King books.
And I can never watch anything with clowns. They already freak me out without a movie to help in the dysfunction. And dolls, I don’t like those either. I have my Raggedy Anne doll from when I was young and a few weeks ago I dreamed that I would go into the room and she had changed places. It kept happening and then the last she was on the ceiling! So, NO, I don’t need any doll movies to contribute to that problem.
What are some of your favorites? HAPPY HALLOWEEN Y’ALL!
Look at this cute lil guy that was hanging out in my backyard this morning! What in the world? Why do I have a chicken running around my backyard? He is super adorable though and I was just thinking about dyeing some eggs for Easter.
Happy Easter y’all! From me, five cats and the latest member of the family – Mr. Chicken. BAWK.
This is SO me. Why is measuring pasta so freakin’ difficult?! Any tips?
Actually it is – Life with
a cat cats.
Maybe you know, maybe you don’t know. I have five cats. Yep, FIVE. I used to have seven! And spring is just around the corner which brings May flowers …. and kittens! So many wild cats around here you just never know when a new baby ends up wandering around. And seriously, how can you turn away sweet faces like these?
.Which is why I can totally understand this:
.Go get yourself a cat! They are adorable, hilarious and fulfill your life so much more than you can imagine. But actually I don’t really care if you are a dog person. Get yourself a dog! Or both! I would recommend to get one from the pound or like I did and have a wild mama leave you her babies. Either way, make sure you are ready for it. Please never ever get an animal and then realize you can’t care for it and then must give it away. That just breaks my heart.
An animal, is a friend for life. Treat it like one. Gracias.
I just seriously cracked myself up with the blog title. Don’t you remember singing that song?
Oh I wish I were an Oscar Mayer wiener
That is what I’d truly like to be
‘Cause if I were an Oscar Meyer wiener
Everyone would be in love with me
And I actually have some VERY good friends of mine dating all the way back to the high school years that are still truly in love with the Oscar Mayer wiener mobile. Have you seen that driving around the USA?
Anyways I am getting away from the true statement of my blog which is, hotdogs in the Pizza Hut crust! Does anything sound wrong with that statement? In Palma there are hotdogs in the Pizza Hut crust! Check it out. Is this for reals? Is this in the USA too? Bleh. Thank you but I will stick with my personal pan pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms and green peppers.
Okay, Dot (my mom) wanted me to make sure everyone is prepared for Dec. 21st. When I was there for Thanksgiving she said to me, “I want to talk to you about something and I don’t want you to think I am crazy but what are your plans for Dec. 21st?” I looked back at her with a bit of a grin because she has been all about this Mayan calendar for months now – more than months, over a year. So I answered, “Well, if the world is going to end anyways what kind of plans would I need to make?”
Mom (Dot to the rest of you) told me that it wasn’t the end of the world but this was a time that we haven’t experienced in a long time, about 400 years. The 12th baktun is changing to the 13th baktun (by the Mayan calendar standards) on Dec. 21st. The winter solstice with the earth lining up with the sun and the Milky Way galaxy might cause the earth’s polar axis to shift. Or possibly solar flares will wipe up the grids and we will have no access to electricity – wiping out any means of communication for an unprecedented amount of time.
You know what, who the hell knows. BUT one good thing to always have is an emergency plan. What exactly would you do if catastrophe struck? I do have a few plans in place – I know if there is an earthquake I would grab my cats, throw them (not hard) in their cat carrier and drive my ass quickly to Randa, the highest point that is closest to me. Sometimes Felix and I like to drive up there with sandwiches, on a clear day you can see from the North coast to the South coast!
But maybe tomorrow you should stock up on some non-perishable food and water and fill up your car with gas. Have a quick discussion with your loved ones about where they could find you or contact you in case something truly horrible did happen. For instance, I told my mom the first place I would go is to register at the U.S. Consulate. It’s never a bad thing to have an emergency plan in place. Just do it, okay? Dot says so!!
And to end on a lighter note. This is superbly awesome:
You know how much I adore the young English royals, from my plethora of posts leading to the days of the wedding and the actual event. Cmon, you know you were excited too! Deep down you were. Okay, fine, really deep down you were.
I’ve had this picture saved looking for the right time to post it. But heck, it’s the ROYALS. Anytime is a good time. It makes me laugh every time I see it. All my captions for the picture seem to be crude. What would your caption be!?
Did you know that octopuses have THREE hearts? And they are among the most intelligent and behaviorally flexible of all invertebrates. Well, unless they are drunk.
