And you thought I was done?

It ain’t over yet, I still got the highlights to talk about!

What a brilliant wedding! Anytime The German and I go to Cornwall we hear the word “brilliant” about 25x a day. It has to be their favorite word. Sometimes I wish they would mix it up a little with SMASHING or my recent fav, SHUT THE FRONT DOOR. How awesome would that be to hear in the British accent.

So, it is over. I thought it was a gorgeous wedding, nothing too over the top (except for Beatrice’s hat, wth WAS that?) I was glued to my computer screen – my satellite receiver went out the day before the wedding and I panicked!! Thank God for the internet. And I was quite impressed with the broadcast over the internet, it was really professional and perfectly clear, about to the time when Wills and Kate said their “I Will’s”. After that it was a bit pixellated and slow from the MILLIONS of people watching it on the internet. Quite amazing.

From the dress, Pippa and Harry flirting (and now the world wants them to get together), to the adorable lil girl covering her ears from the noise of the crowd while William and Kate kissed for the SECOND time, I simply loved it all. And sat in front of my computer for three hours straight.

My two favorite pics are from my screen shots. The German took the one in Westminster Abbey and I took the one in the seconds before the second kiss.

To be honest, I really thought I wouldn’t be so excited. I know my every day posts of the wedding seems a bit off course from that statement but I thought nothing could compare to the feeling I had when watching so many years ago at the tender age of 9. And I was wrong. The minute I woke up and turned on the broadcast was when William and Harry were riding in the car on the way to the church. I was hooked. No tears amazingly but I could NOT stop watching.

I have to add this, because of all the people I saw online with true hate and disgust against the wedding. Because they felt we (as Americans) should not be so focused on this. We should be focused on the tragedies, the tornado victims, Libya, Syria, the wars – and I was outraged. WHY in this world can we not enjoy three hours of joy and bliss of a beautiful wedding, something that some people will only see once in a lifetime. Why can we not give a little bit of our time to focus on some happiness in the world? I was truly saddened to see so many negative thoughts against something so beautiful.

And now for the beautiful:

And then to one quite happy vicar, who either didn’t care (my thought) or forgot the cameras may still be rolling. The wedding is over! And it ROCKED.

ps – I LOVED the trees in Westminster Abbey! Until next time, Cheerio!

Get yer souvenirs hereeee, only two more days

I wouldn’t necessarily say I am a hoarder. But I do like to collect things that I think will gain in value. My poor parents have taken the brunt of my obsession by keeping boxes of stuff in their garage, until I decide to actually schlump it all to Europe. My latest random purchase was the Toy Story 3 Mr. Potato Head that I found here at the grocery store. So at least that future million dollar collectible is safely here in my midst.

Do you collect anything?

Once I saw the Kate doll, I wanted it immediately! But alas, I am not going to fork out 200 pounds for it. Even though they are only making 5,000 of them and it will definitely be on the most wanted list in …..20, 30, 40 years? Here are some other souvenirs that are out there for your choosing.

This one is my favorite. If only I knew how to knit!

Knit Your Own Royal Wedding has a cast of characters including the Queen, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Camilla, Prince Harry, the Archbishop of Canterbury, a variety of wedding guests plus, of course, the happy couple themselves – and even a corgi – this is one wedding souvenir that will be a must-have for any keen crafter.

There is a backdrop of Westminster Abbey included, so that you can display your creations in authentic surroundings. For sale on Amazon.co.uk  £9.99

The Kate Middleton Engagement Doll. The hand-painted, limited edition collector’s item – only 5,000 will be produced worldwide – will be available for £195 and comes with a display stand and certificate of authenticity. The 16-inch Kate figurine comes complete with a miniature silk jersey dress quite similar to the blue Issa she wore when she and Prince William announced their engagement in November. The doll will also feature a replica of her sapphire and diamond engagement ring.

A second Kate doll will be available after April 29 featuring the bride’s highly-anticipated wedding dress, jewelry and tiara. That doll retail for £295 and will be available this summer.

Awwww, how “sweet”. PEZ’s commemorative pair of his-and-her candy dispensers in the likeness of the betrothed couple. The limited-edition item will be auctioned off on eBay from April 7–17, with proceeds going to a charity supported by the couple.

Looks like the auction date has passed, so start looking to see them for sale again online – for more money, of course! That is how those collector items work.

Not invited to the royal wedding? You can still raise a pint to William and Kate with one very royal brew:  Kiss Me Kate beer. Created by Castle Rock Brewery in Nottingham, England, the tipple is described as “elegant, tasteful and British to the core” – I’ll drink to that!

And for all you wackos out there – The Royal Refrigerator.

GE is coming out with a commemorative refrigerator, dubbed “The Ultimate,” which certainly is fit for a king … or one with a king-sized appetite for royal memorabilia. Standing at 5 ft., 9 in. and emblazoned with the Mario Testino engagement portrait of William and Kate, you’ll most certainly impress freakout your friends with your royal dedication.

Kate the Great

Holy royal smokes!

I really like Kate Middleton. I think she is gorgeous, sassy and fun. Just what the royal family needs in their midst  to shake things up a bit. Seriously, it just hasn’t been the same since Diana died.

Here are a few facts about Kate.

Fact # 1. When Prince William and Kate finally walk down the aisle next year, Kate will be 29, making her the oldest royal bride EVER. (Most royal brides in history have typically been teenagers. Even William’s mother, Princess Di, was barely 20 years old when she married his father, Prince Charles.)

Fact # 2. If the royal couple’s first press conference is any indication, Kate wants to be called by her given name, Catherine, and not by her nickname, Kate. So, we’re all going to have to get used to it! Besides, Princess Catherine has a regal air to it, and, if she and William go the distance and become king and queen, she will be the 6th Queen Catherine of England.

Fact # 3. When asked what they love about each other, William mentioned that Kate had “plenty of habits” that he loved to tease her about. We’re happy to know that the soon-to-be British princess has just a touch of neurotic tendencies. She also reportedly can drink William under the table, which makes her a girl after my own heart.

Fact # 4.  When a friend once said she was lucky to be with Prince William she replied, “He’s lucky to be with me.”

I love this girl!
