What a sad day. Yesterday when I heard the news about the shooting in CT, I was upset and angry. But when I woke up today and the news just kept pouring in, on the internet, on facebook, on twitter, on the radio; I had had my fill of sadness. It is bad enough that there were 28 people killed but the majority being children just set me over the edge.
My friend posted “This morning I woke up and realized that twenty little lights have been extinguished. Twenty little lights that had just begun to shine. Twenty little souls that believed we could keep them safe. And this world is already a little darker without them because as a society, we failed them. And I feel angry because it didn’t have to happen. I am joining this fight. ~ Do not go gentle into that good night….rage, RAGE against the dying of the light.”
I don’t have the perfect answer. More assault weapons is not the answer to massacres by people using assault weapons. Limiting the manufacture, import, and sale of assault weapons is a fantastic place to start, however. I do believe in that.
So hug your little ones tight tonight. Tell them you love them. And do your part in making this a better world. If not for you, then most definitely, for them.
I REALLY want to make these!! Giving these cookies to the families that I teach would be the perfect gift for Christmas! Too bad we can’t make them for a class project but I think that might be a bit too much…. and messy.

Who remembers this one? Mr. Snow Miser? Mr. Heat Miser?
This really brings back the memories of living in Madison, WI in the duplex on Offshore Dr. This is definitely a classic, they don’t play this anymore. Is that showing my age?
Snow Miser is a character from the 1974 special The Year Without a Santa Claus. In the special, Snow Miser controlled cold weather all over the Earth; his archnemesis is his brother, Mr. Heat Miser. Santa woke up with a cold and his doctor tells Santa to take a holiday because nobody cares about Christmas anymore. So it is up to too elves, Jingle and Jangle to find people who still believe in Mr. Claus. And somewhere along the way Mrs. Claus gets joined up to fight the good fight and return Christmas!
And in eager anticipation …… Mr. Snow Miser.
Isn’t this picture dreamy? I envision myself on a Christmas sleigh ride with Felix going to some place romantical. And then arriving at our log cabin with a fire blazing away in the fireplace. Ahhhhhhh….. one day.
Hey, all you need is a little purple tinsel around your outside restaurant display and we are all in the Christmas mood! And enjoy the paella!
My adorable boyfriend, love of my life, soul mate, the list could go on and on …. was at the warehouse tonight and was completely bored. Oh wait! I have a new iPhone 5 and I can take pictures of myself to send to my favorite girlfriend!
