Went to Wasabi last night. Excellent sushi and rolls. FINALLY, someone figured it out.
There are lots of japanese restaurants on the island but I find most of them have extremely boring options. But the sushi gods granted my pleas for some spicy tuna rolls and an allover great menu variety.
Not only is the food mouth watering but the service was very attentive. Two thumbs up, you won’t be disappointed.

Shhhhhhhh, do you hear that? Listen. There! That sad voice pleading, “please help me”. That would be my workroom crying out for attention.
So gross! And depressing. And a new room can be only errrr, a few days away! Well, it took ME three days to paint three walls. It’s not like it was a need-it-done-now situation. Relax, it’s fun!
And so easy. All you need is to choose a color, buy some painter’s blue tape, a paintbrush, a roller brush and a plastic tray for the roller.
My color choice – tomato red. But it turned out a teeny bit darker, which I still liked. I also did a quick touch up with white paint where the ceiling meets the wall area. Painting the entire ceiling was unnecessary so why do it?
Some sites say to prep the walls, meaning paint them white first. I can see where that would be important if you were painting a light color but with red, I forgo that step.
Step ONE: Clean the walls to remove dust and dirt with water, a little mild dishwashing detergent and sponge.
Step TWO: Tape the trim, window, outlets and door frame. Remember to take off the tape before the wall dries so you don’t peel off any paint with it.
Step THREE: (This would be when you would prime the walls if you were going to) Brush on paint around trim and in the corners of walls, where your roller can’t reach, with a two-inch angled brush. Extend out two to three inches from windows, doors, and moldings.
Step FOUR: Use the W technique. For efficiency, start in the corner of a wall and roll on a three-by-three-foot W pattern, then fill it in without lifting the roller. Continue in sections until you’re finished. Paint one wall at a time.
Step FIVE: Paint the trim. When the walls are completely dry, tape where the trim meets the wall. Paint the moldings and the door and window frames with a two-inch angled brush. But I have tile trim and metal window frames, so this did not apply to me.
AND FINITO!! You are done! Good job!! Here are my fabulous new walls. Ahhh, zen, so much better. Ohhhhmmmmmm.
This trip to England we did the same route as the last time – Eurotunnel, Falstaff Hotel at Canterbury and The Scarlet Hotel in Mawgan Porth (Cornwall).
With a first stop to celebrate Oma’s 98th birthday!! Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum dein Geburtstag!! One of her grandchildren mentioned to her, “Just think, in two years you will be 100!” To which she replied, “And I hope I won’t be here.” Awwww, Oma. One can get tired of life if there isn’t much to it anymore. But bless her old lil heart, she is still kicking it as best as she can.
Feel free to look through the highlights of the trip……
THE 98 year old Oma, hangin’ with the homies.

Cornwall sheep and babies. I keep wanting to call them sheepies every since I saw this cartoon that Avery was watching. That one where you put words together and learn letters…..whatever. Lil Bo Peep kept saying “I lost my sheepies. Ohhhhh where are my poor lil sheepies.” Ever since then all I can think of is sheepies when I see those funny creatures all over Mallorca. Is the next generation going to call them sheepies from this? Are we doomed with sheepies from now on?
Spooky old church we found while taking a turn off the beaten path. Hundreds of crows that wouldn’t let me take their picture. You couldn’t have paid me enough money to stay there overnight. Well, okay, maybe you could. But it would be one damn scary night.
I have a strange fetish with tombstones.
That’s Jasper! The hotel dog that you can take for walks. Plus, the scenery isn’t too shabby.
Ended the stay with a gorgeous sunset seen from the balcony of our room at The Scarlet.
Do you have Doc Martens? I got my pair of black DM when I was a freshmen in college, that would be 1989. I wore those shoes religiously; to class, to church, out at Eskimo Joe’s with a short miniskirt, waitressing at Mexico Joe’s with cut-off jean shorts, always with jeans. Obviously, my main fashion staple.
While I no longer wear them as often as I did then, I still wear them. And still LOVE them.
Hey, Marga turned TWENTY on Friday. Like. No. Way. Party in the spanish countryside.
The birthday girl got a new camera. Guess what she was doing the entire party? “Kim”, click. Kim turns her head, click. Kim coughs, click.

Boys will be boys. Reminds me of this restaurant that I see when I drive to Canyamel in the NE of the island, Los Melones.
Mmmm, thank you. Don’t mind if I do.
Mmmmm, cakes, plural. Even better.
Cuatro, the spanish doggie with a hurt foot. See the lil bit of red, that is her bandaid. Cuatro you look a bit guilty. Did you pee in the punch?
Well howdy partners. Just returning from a lovely trip up to Germany for Oma’s 98th birthday and then to England. Getting my schtuff organized to show off some pics but there is something a little more important….
